The National Center on Complex Processing of Mineral Raw Materials of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter referred to as the NC CPMRM RK) summarized its work for 2025.
In a report at a meeting of the enterprise's Academic Council, Askar Nurgaliyev, Director General of the NC CPMRM RK, highlighted the key results of 30 government-commissioned projects and programs, noting that their novelty and uniqueness have already been confirmed by the receipt of 22 patents for inventions and utility models and 7 copyrights. Dozens of invention applications are still pending review by the relevant authorities. As a result of projects to commercialize the results of scientific and/or scientific and technical activities, the production of chromium ferroalloys has been launched and the production of a silicon-carbon nanocomposite has been organized. A wind turbine project is being successfully implemented.
The NC CPMRM RK has traditionally maintained close ties with industrial enterprises. The implementation of 200 projects for domestic and international businesses resulted in the development of 13 ore processing technologies, including those for precious and critical metals, with industrial and pilot testing and the issuance of process regulations. Key achievements include the integration of scientific findings into the production processes of subsoil users. These include the implementation of recommendations for improving the safety and efficiency of backfill operations, the results of subsidence studies, and 3D geotechnical models at Kazzinc LLC's mines; personnel monitoring and positioning systems at the drainage shaft of Bogatyr Komir LLC's Severny open pit mine, at the Akzhal mine of Gornyak Starateley LLC; and recommendations for increasing gold recovery at the Altyntau Kokshetau JSC gold processing plant.
Scientists and specialists from the NC CPMRM RK were involved in a project to recycle wastewater from the heap leaching of tungsten ore at the Verkhneye Kayrakty deposit, financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. They also implemented projects to process minerals extracted from copper and lead-zinc ore deposits in Uzbekistan and Georgia. Such work is important both from a strengthening and developing international cooperation perspective and from an economic perspective, as it facilitates the growth of foreign investment in our country.
The key to the success of the NC CPMRM RK in the provision of scientific and technical services in Kazakhstan and abroad is undoubtedly its human resources (approximately 100 people hold doctorates, PhDs, and candidate degrees) and the company's organizational structure, which ensures the coverage of research and development work across the entire mining and metallurgical complex, from raw material extraction to the production of metal products.
