The successful launch of the gold recovery plant at the Akbeit deposit in the Akmola region was the result of comprehensive research and development work carried out by specialists from the Branch of the National Center on Complex Processing of Mineral Raw Materials of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a branch of the State Scientific and Production Association of Industrial Ecology "Kazmekhanobr" (Kazmekhanobr). This research enabled the identification of the most efficient ore processing technology, which formed the basis for the design and construction of the new production complex.
At the request of Aina Resources LLP, Kazmekhanobr specialists completed a comprehensive research and development project to study the material composition and process properties of primary sulfide ore from the Akbeit deposit. The study included mineralogical and chemical analysis, gravity, flotation, and hydrometallurgical testing, as well as the development of process flow diagrams for the industrial processing of gold-bearing ore.
Tests demonstrated high gravity concentration of the ore, as well as its high flotation activity and the efficiency of hydrometallurgical processing.
Based on the research results, Kazmekhanobr developed two process flowsheets for industrial use: a gravity-flotation system and a gravity-cyanide system. These processes ensure high gold recovery from the Akbeit deposit ore – 90-92%.
Based on Kazmekhanobr's recommendations, a modern gold recovery plant was built and commissioned by Aina Resources LLC with the participation of investors from Singapore. The main products are doré alloy and flotation concentrate. The project has already created approximately 200 jobs, with plans to employ an additional 150-200 specialists.
The Akbeit project has become a clear example of how Kazmekhanobrtrans's scientific developments are translated into effective industrial solutions that create business value. The conducted research allowed us to substantiate the choice of optimal gold ore processing technology and lay the scientific foundation for the construction of a modern mining and metallurgical enterprise. The project convincingly demonstrates that the integration of Kazakhstani science, production, and business contributes to the creation of sustainable production solutions, increased investment attractiveness, and the long-term development of the mining industry.
