Kazakh and Uzbek specialists exchanged experiences in laboratory testing of mineral raw materials, modern analytical methods, and quality control. The professional meeting was held as part of international cooperation and aimed at implementing best practices in geology and the mining and metallurgical industry, DKNews.kz reports.
Specialists from the Eastern Research Institute of Mining and Metallurgical Non-Ferrous Metals (VNIITsvetmet) visited the research units of Uzbekgeologorazvedka JSC in Uzbekistan.
What issues did the specialists discuss
During the visit, the Kazakh delegation was introduced to the work of Uzbekgeologorazvedka JSC's Central Laboratory and the Analytical Laboratory Complex in Samarkand.
The focus was on:
- testing of ores and their beneficiated products;
- modern laboratory research methods;
- laboratory proficiency testing programs;
- technical solutions in analytical control;
- Improving the efficiency of laboratory work.
Kazakhstan shared its own developments
VNIITsvetmet specialists presented their experience in mineral raw material testing to their Uzbek colleagues.
Specifically, the discussion focused on:
- developing and implementing testing methods;
- using standard samples;
- ensuring the reliability of research results;
- organizing the work of an accredited testing center.
According to the meeting participants, the exchange of professional knowledge will improve the quality of laboratory research, the accuracy of analytical control, and the productivity of mining and metallurgical enterprises.
Why is international exchange of experience important
Larisa Kushakova, Deputy Director for Applied Research and Testing at VNIITsvetmet, a branch of the RSE "NC CPMRM RK", noted that such cooperation helps laboratories improve their work.
"For a modern laboratory, it is important not only to have equipment and experience, but also to constantly benchmark its approaches against best international practices." "This type of professional exchange allows us to identify new technological solutions, improve internal processes, and strengthen our quality management system," noted Larisa Kushakova, Deputy Director for Applied Research and Testing at VNIITsvetmet, a branch of the RSE "NC CPMRM RK".
What does VNIITsvetmet do?
The VNIITsvetmet Test Center is a modern, accredited laboratory facility that works in the fields of geology, mining, and metallurgy.
The center's specialists:
- develop and improve test methods;
- create and certify standard samples;
- ensure quality control of raw materials and industrial products;
- calibrate equipment;
- participate in the metrological certification of methods.
The center's developments are used by companies in Kazakhstan and neighboring countries.
What does this mean for the industry?
The development of international cooperation between research and testing centers facilitates the implementation of modern technologies, improves the quality of laboratory research, and unifies analytical control standards. For the mining and metallurgy industry, this means more accurate raw material testing, increased reliability of production processes, and stronger competitiveness in the international market.
