Employees of the Zh. Abishev Chemical-Metallurgical Institute, a branch of RSE "NC CPMRM RK", participated in the 25th International Conference on Chemical Thermodynamics (RCCT-2026), held in Yekaterinburg, Russian Federation. The Kazakhstan delegation was represented by Doctor of Chemical Sciences and Professor Shuga Kasenova, Candidate of Chemical Sciences and Associate Professor Zhenisgul Sagintayeva, and Candidate of Chemical Sciences and Associate Professor Vera Tolokonnikova.

The conference was attended by over 800 specialists from 20 countries, including Russia, Kazakhstan, India, China, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Republic of Korea, Mongolia, and others. The event brought together leading scientists, representatives of research organizations, higher education institutions, and industrial enterprises working in the fields of chemical thermodynamics, materials science, and the development of new functional materials.

Kazakh scientists presented the results of their research on new multicomponent oxide materials with a perovskite-like structure—one of the most promising classes of functional materials for modern electronics.

"For the first time, we have obtained comprehensive information on the thermodynamic and electrophysical properties of new compounds, allowing us to predict their stability, control their functional characteristics, and create semiconductor materials with tailored properties. These materials form the foundation of modern electronics: they are used to create sensors, electronic components, automation systems, telecommunications equipment, and energy-efficient devices," noted the delegation's leader, Doctor of Chemical Sciences and Professor Shuga Kasenova.

During the working visit, special attention was paid to the development of international scientific cooperation. Institute representatives held working meetings with Elena Korchagina, Candidate of Technical Sciences (D.I. Mendeleyev All-Union Research Institute of Metrology), and Andrey Zuyev, Doctor of Chemical Sciences and Professor of Physical Chemistry (Ural Federal University). During the meetings, promising areas of joint research, the application of modern thermodynamic modeling methods, as well as opportunities for implementing joint research projects and training young scientists were discussed.
