Specialists of the branch of the Republican State Enterprise "National Center on Complex Processing of Mineral Raw Materials of the Republic of Kazakhstan" – State Scientific and Production Association for Industrial Ecology "Kazmekhanobr" have developed a technology for the integrated processing of polymetallic ores from the Gagarinskoye deposit in the Korday district of Zhambyl region.
The technology involves preliminary recovery of free gold and silver, selective flotation of lead and zinc, and subsequent hydrometallurgical processing of the gold‑silver‑bearing product. It enables the production of a lead concentrate with a lead content of 45.29%, gold 67.70 g/t, and silver 1539.90 g/t; a zinc concentrate with zinc 50.03%, gold 15.70 g/t, and silver 413.90 g/t; a gravity concentrate with gold 78.90 g/t and silver 203.10 g/t; and a gold‑silver‑bearing product with gold 3.61 g/t and silver 57.80 g/t.
With intensive cyanidation, the overall recovery across the entire flowsheet is 86% for gold and 88% for silver; with sorption cyanidation, it is 87% and 89%, respectively. Combined beneficiation and hydrometallurgical processing flowsheets for gold‑silver‑bearing products have been developed and are recommended for industrial implementation.
In 2025, Kazmekhanobr developed process design specifications for a concentrator with a capacity of 1 million tonnes of ore per year. Construction of a mining and processing plant is currently underway in the Korday district of Zhambyl region.
