The facilities are planned to be built at the Besshoky and Kyzyltu deposits.

Technological solutions have been developed in Kazakhstan for the construction of two new beneficiation plants, which will be able to process a total of 10.5 million tons of copper ore per year, inbusiness.kz reports, citing the Ministry of Industry and Construction.

The facilities are planned to be built at the Besshoky and Kyzyltu deposits. Their combined output could reach approximately 190,000 tons of copper concentrate per year. The technology for the future production facilities was developed by specialists from the Eastern Research Mining and Metallurgical Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals, a branch of the National Center for Integrated Processing of Mineral Raw Materials.

A beneficiation plant with a capacity of 7.5 million tons of ore per year is planned for the Besshoky deposit. The planned output is approximately 142,000 tons of copper concentrate with a copper content of 25%.

The Kyzyltu project is designed to process 3 million tons of ore annually. The plant's copper concentrate capacity is expected to be approximately 48,000 tons per year, with a copper grade of approximately 21%.

The flotation enrichment technologies developed by the specialists have already been incorporated into the process regulations that will be used in the design of new plants.

At the same time, the institute is adjusting the process regulations for the existing Bozshakol and Karchiga enrichment plants. In doing so, the specialists are taking into account the mineral composition of the ore and the specifics of the production processes.

"Using laboratory flotation machines, specialists are studying the effect of ore grinding fineness, selecting and refining optimal flotation modes. The results obtained will increase copper recovery and will be used to improve the operation of these enrichment plants," noted Larisa Kushakova, Deputy Director for Applied Research and Testing at VNIITsvetmet.
