SCIENTIFIC FORUM IN ZHEZKAZGAN

On June 11, 2026, First Deputy General Director Dosmurat Aitkulov participated in an off-site meeting of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Zhezkazgan, Ulytau Region, on the topic "Strong Regional Science, Strong Region."

During the meeting, he delivered a report on "Scientific and Technical Support for the Development of the Mining and Metallurgical Complex of Ulytau Region," in which he presented the most significant results of research projects carried out by scientists at the National Center for Integrated Processing of Mineral Raw Materials of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Current issues related to the development of the region's mining and metallurgical complex were also discussed, and solutions were proposed.

The off-site meeting was attended by A. Kurishbayev, President of the National Academy of Sciences under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan; N. Karipbayev, Deputy Akim of the Ulytau Region; S. Nurbek, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan; E. Nysanbayev, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan (via online format); Zh. Dubirova, Vice Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan; G. Nurzhanov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Kazakhmys Corporation; academicians of the National Academy of Sciences; heads of higher education institutions and research institutes; representatives of major industrial enterprises and businesses in the region; and leading scientists.

The results of scientific and technological developments and innovative solutions presented by our Center's scientists generated considerable interest among forum participants. Kazakhmys Corporation specialists, as well as domestic and international scientists, particularly focused on proposals aimed at solving pressing problems in the mining and metallurgical industry. Preliminary discussions included proposals for exchanging scientific results, conducting joint research, and implementing promising projects.

During his visit, D. Aitkulov learned about the activities of the Kazakhmys Barlau LLP Geological Cluster in Zhezkazgan and attended the opening ceremony of the Regional Foresight Center of the National Academy of Sciences under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, established within its framework.

Participation in the event once again confirmed that strengthening the interaction between science and industry, developing regional scientific potential, and implementing innovative solutions in industry are essential for the country's sustainable development, technological modernization, and the formation of a competitive economy.
