Kazakh scientists studied advanced mineral resource analysis methods in Uzbekistan.
The development of modern geology and metallurgy is impossible without precise laboratory research and the introduction of new technologies. Therefore, international cooperation is becoming an important tool for improving the quality of scientific work. Specialists from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan exchanged professional experience, discussing modern methods of mineral resource analysis, issues of ensuring research accuracy, and the implementation of advanced laboratory solutions, inbusiness.kz reports, citing the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
As part of this international cooperation, specialists from the Eastern Scientific Research Institute of Mining and Metallurgical Non-Ferrous Metals (VNIITsvetmet) visited the Central Laboratory of JSC Uzbekgeologorazvedka and the Analytical Laboratory Complex in Samarkand, where they learned about the scientific and technical approaches used by their Uzbek colleagues.
The meeting participants focused on testing ores and their enrichment products, laboratory participation in proficiency testing programs, the use of modern research methods, and the implementation of new technical solutions in analytical control, according to the Ministry of Industry and Construction of Kazakhstan.
During the visit, Kazakhstani specialists presented their experience conducting laboratory testing of mineral raw materials, discussed the development and application of modern testing methods, the use of standard samples, and ensuring the reliability of analytical results at the VNIITsvetmet Testing Center.
As the specialists note, this exchange of professional knowledge helps improve the quality of laboratory testing, enhance the accuracy of analytical control, and improve the operational efficiency of mining and metallurgical enterprises.
"For a modern laboratory, it's important not only to have equipment and experience, but also to constantly benchmark its approaches against international best practices. This type of professional exchange allows us to identify new technological solutions, improve internal processes, and strengthen our quality management system," noted Larisa Kushakova, Deputy Director for Applied Research and Testing at VNIITsvetmet, a branch of the RSE "NC CPMRM RK".**
VNIITsvetmet's Test Center is a modern, accredited laboratory facility whose specialists work to improve and implement testing methods in geology, mining, and metallurgy. It develops and certifies standard samples needed for quality control of mineral raw materials and industrial products, verifying the accuracy of analytical studies, calibrating laboratory equipment, and performing metrological certification of methods.
The center's developments are widely used by companies in Kazakhstan and neighboring countries. Organizations using VNIITsvetmet certified reference materials include Bakyrchik Mining Enterprise, Varvarinskoye JSC, VostokKhimLab, Krisanalyt, SGS Kazakhstan LTD, CenterECOproekt, and the Russian company ISO-Centerregionservis, among others.
International meetings not only facilitate the exchange of professional experience but also the development of unified approaches to laboratory research, improving the quality of analytical support for geological exploration, and the implementation of modern technologies in industry. With increasing demands on research quality, such cooperation is becoming a key factor in the development of the mining and metallurgical industry and strengthening the scientific and technical partnership between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
