In just one year, Aina Resources, together with a Singaporean investor, revived the Akbeit deposit. During Soviet times, ore was mined at the site, but there was never an on-site processing facility in the village of Zhaltyr.
The Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan emphasizes that the construction of the plant was based on the results of research conducted by Kazmekhanobr. Commissioned by Aina Resources, specialists from the state research and production association studied the material composition and process properties of primary sulfide ore.
Testing demonstrated the high gravity concentration of the raw material, as well as its high flotation activity and the efficiency of hydrometallurgical processing. Accordingly, Kazmekhanobr selected the optimal ore processing technology.
Two process schemes were proposed for the new facility: gravity-flotation and gravity-cyanide. These processes ensure 90-92% ore recovery.
The plant's capacity is 100,000 tons of ore per year. The company will supply the Dore alloy to the National Mining Company Tau-Ken Samruk, and the flotation concentrate to external buyers.
Overall, over $100 million was invested in the construction of the plant, a 300,000 cubic meter tailings storage facility, and other necessary infrastructure.
The launch of gold mining has had a positive impact on the village: almost all local residents have received jobs. Aina Resources notes that tax revenues from the project will exceed 8 billion tenge by 2030.
