A Life Dedicated to Science: Academician Abduali Baeshov Turns 80

These days, Abduali Baeshov, a distinguished scientist, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Chief Researcher at the National Center on Complex Processing of Mineral Raw Materials of the Republic of Kazakhstan, celebrates his birthday.

Abduali Baeshov is a recognized expert in the field of electrochemistry and hydroelectrometallurgy, having dedicated more than half a century to research and teaching. His professional career is inextricably linked with the development of domestic science and industry, the training of scientific personnel, and the implementation of advanced technologies.

The scientist developed the fundamental principles of promising electrochemical methods for processing and synthesizing copper- and chalcogen-containing materials and proposed new approaches to recycling phosphorus and oil refining waste to produce valuable compounds. Of particular importance are his technologies for the recovery of difficult-to-process compounds and methods for producing new materials. A fundamentally new method for storing electric current has also been developed, with an electrical capacity several dozen times greater than that of lithium batteries; this innovation is protected by patents.

As a result of Abduali Baeshov's many years of research, he discovered new scientific phenomena, including the phenomenon of post-polarization chemical self-dissolution of titanium in acidic solutions, which was recognized as a discovery and awarded a diploma.

He is the author of over 1,400 scientific papers, including monographs and textbooks, and the holder of over 240 inventions. Under his supervision, two doctoral dissertations, 39 candidate dissertations, and a PhD dissertation were defended.

His many years of work and significant contributions to the development of science and industry have been recognized with state awards, including the Order of Kurmet, the title of "Honored Inventor of the Republic of Kazakhstan," "Inventor of the USSR," the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the medal "For Merits in the Development of Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan," and the V.I. Blinnikov "For Contribution to Invention and Patent Practice" and other awards.

Today, congratulating Abduali Baeshov on his birthday, the staff of the RSE "NC CPMRM RK" wishes him good health, boundless energy, and new discoveries – the very ones that move science forward.
