RSE «National Center on complex processing of mineral raw materials of the Republic of Kazakhstan» of the Committee for Industrial Development of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan was established in accordance with Presidential Edict № 1090 as of January 21, 1993 and Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan № 642 as of July 22, 1993 to improve the organization of science and development of scientific and technical potential of the republic. Accordingly, creation objects were followings:
- ensure the implementation of priority development of science,
- contribute the strengthening of scientific and technological potential,
- further the ensuring of technological breakthrough of Kazakhstan.
Structure and personnel
Following lead research institutes and enterprises of mining and metallurgical field are included in RSE «National Center on complex processing of mineral raw materials of the Republic of Kazakhstan»:
- Institute of Geology and Economics of Mineral Raw Materials, Almaty;
- D.A. Kunayev Mining Institute, Almaty;
- Zh. Abishev Chemicometallurgical Institute, Karaganda;
- Eastern Research Mining and Metallurgical Institute of Nonferrous Metals, Ust-Kamenogorsk;
- «Kazmekhanobr» State Scientific Production Association of Industrial Ecology, Almaty;
- Center of metallurgy;
- Subsidiary in Astana.
Followings are operating within the structure of the central office of RSE NC CPMRM RK:
- 6 scientific laboratories,
- experimental complex,
- engineering design department.
Personnel of the National Center include 900 people, including 36 Doctors of Science and 66 Candidates of Science, 40 academics (of National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan - 4 persons, International Academy of Mineral Resources - 2 persons, Academy of Mineral Resources of Kazakhstan - 4 persons, International Informatization Academy - 8 persons, International Ecology Academy - 3 persons, National Academy of Natural Sciences - 7 persons, National Academy of Engineering - 4 persons, International Thermoelectric Academy - 1 person, International Academy of Engineering - 1 person), 9 corresponding members, 61 laureates of awards (of State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan - 17 persons, of Award of Academicians K.I. Satpayev, Y.A. Buketov, Sh.Y. Yessenov, U. Joldasbekov and D.A. Kunayev - 38 persons, Prizes "Tarlan" - 1 person, Prizes of the Youth Union of Kazakhstan - 1 person, Prizes of the Foundation named after the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - 2 persons).
The Centre is headed by Abdurassul Aldashevich Zharmenov, Director General, member of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, recipient of the State Prize of RK in science, technology and education.
The staff of the Centre has received various awards for their success and achievements, including State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan, «The Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan» Honorary Title, the Academicians K.I. Satpayev, Y.A. Buketov, Sh.Y. Yessenov, U. Joldasbekov and D.A. Kunayev Award, «Kurmet» Order, «Astana - 10 years», «Yeren Yenbegi ushin» (For Valorous Labor) Medals, Certificates of Merit of the Republic of Kazakhstan, award pins of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan «For Services in the Advancement of Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan» and «Honorable Educator of the Republic of Kazakhstan» and award of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan – «Kenshi danky» (Merits in Mining) of I, II and III classes, «Yenbek danky» (Merits in Labor) of III class, «European Quality» International Awards.
High professional level of the staff, efficiently developed structure and precise chosen strategy of development contribute to successful operation of RSE NC CPMRM RK at the market of scientific and technical services in mining and metals production sector, including development, implementation and transfer of advanced technologies and invention of innovative manufacturing methods.
